Love the dress shirts, hate the snobbery. Returned 2 shirts because the colors were not what I expected (from an online order) and customer service at the store was flat-out rude.
I knew the shirts I was returning were each $48 and some odd cents and the woman helping the man enter the return told him to key in "$43.85 for the first return." I waited until she was finished speaking and said, "I think it's actually forty--" before she cut me off and said, "yeah, I see it." The tone of her voice was snotty and abrupt, she didn't make eye contact with me and just gave the overall impression that we were a bother.
Say it with me Brooks Brothers staff... "You're welcome." The appropriate response to "thank you" is "you're welcome."
I said thank you three different times and was acknowledged ONCE with an "uh-huh"-- not exactly the typical curteous response you would expect after spending almost $400 online.
